On Saturday 22nd April at 7:30pm, a quarter peal of Cambridge Surprise Minor was successfully completed for St George and for Shakespeare’s birthday. Also with best wishes to Robin Peers, the tower captain at Fownhope, for a full and speedy recovery.

Congratulations to Barbara for her first quarter of Cambridge in a while and to Anne for her first quarter of treble bob.

Cambridge is the most commonly rung Surprise Minor method, but ringing Cambridge is a big step-up from plain methods like Plain Bob or Grandsire. Treble bobbing is a pattern that the treble (highest bell in pitch) follows for more complicated methods, such as Surprise Minor.
